He now made the same statement,‘adding that he • offered to leave his swag (worth £3) with tho stationmaster at Eangiora as security. Tho guard-of tho train ■ to~Ohrißtohurch explained that he had been led to' keep d sharp look-out, having been informed by the guard- of the Oxford train, that aman-had travelled- downi to Eangiora without a ticket. 5 Eeplying-to the Bench, accused said bp was - going back; to Lyttelton, to get aboard ship again.
