Sheepskins.—At our sale to-day 3130 sheep, skins were offered, and all lots sold. .There was but a moderate attendance of buyers, and biddings were not very animated during the earlier part of the sale, but improved a little towards the close. The following are the prices realisedCtoss-bred, largo, 3s 6d to 5s 9d each: do medium, 2s lid to 5s 6d; do small inferior. Business daring the past week him shown an inclination to rally from the effects of monetary depression. The market, wholesale and retail, has, been more active, and providing only fair average harvest is secured, with just a little relaxation ot the prevailing tightness in money circles, the winter will be comfortably tided over. Prices have not. undergone much alteration since last quotations Wheat from 3s 6dto 4a, with very little in the market, new crop not having yet oome to hind j: fowls wheat, 2s 9d to 3s ; pollard, £<S ;. bran, £5 IQs; oats are in supply at 3s, and chaff is moving in trade parcels at £6; oatmeal, £l9 at mill j market is quite bare of barley; potatoes are worth £6, andare • in supply ; flour- (local) commands from £lO to £lO 10s ; cornsacks are steady at 8s 3d, and 'woolpaoks at 3s 3d j kerosene (Noonday), from 2s 4d to 2s 6d per gallon ; market is bare of Devoe’s; cheese, 7d to 7id ; butter. Fat cattle -There is no alteration to report in; value, the market continuing firm at previous quotations, with a steady demand; fat sheep mamtain their value well, with high prices ruling for stores, and likely to increase considerably before winter ; best half-breds. 11s to 11b 6d; medium,. 9s 6d to 10s. Store cattle—We have very little inquiry at present for any description, and no improvement, is anticipated until after the harvest, when good fresh bullocks will probably be in demand at firm, rates. Store sheep are in excellent demand; young ewes and wethers, either cross-bred ormennos, are saleable at extreme rates. Wheat is extremely dull at present. Inver.argill parcels; superior, are worth 3s 10d to 4s j medium, Ss 4d to 3a_ 6d, oats are likely to ox>en at about 3s for bright feed samples. WOOL IMPORTERS.
