OXFORD. Hie usual fortnighly meeting of this Board ■eras Vii»ld m Vr-irlav TToK 7 • nreaent—Measra Gorton (chairman), Pearson, and Sladden. The Clerk’s report was read and considered, and the following works sanctioned for next Board day:—Forming 50 chains continuation of Sladden’s road j about 15 chains near Lee’s mill; metalling Main Bush road from Sladden’s to Lee’s mill, and Lewis’ road at Plaskett’s,_ each with 22 yards to the chain.—The following correspondence was read :—From the Minister of Lands, informing the Board that a voucher for £25 had been passed, being a portion of the cost of surveying a road into W harfdale.—A petition was received from Mr J. S. Gammon and 13 others, requesting the Board to lengthen the bridge over the railway drain to the full width of the road. The Clerk to report nest Board day.—From Messrs Joynt and Perceval, silicitors, informing the Board that Mr H. B. Johnstone had accepted the amount paid into Court on the second count, and had discontinued the action as to the first count, thus settling the action, and asking the Board to forward ten guineas the amount due to him as costs in the said action. —From Mr Dally, offering os for old timber at the corner of Queen street. The matter was left with the Clerk.—An extension of time was granted to Mr J. J. Weeber, for his contract of repairing cottages.—The Clerk was instructed to have the lines cut in continuation of Sladden’s road, and to look for a road over the saddle next to Mount Oxford into Wharfdale, and report next Board day. —Accounts to the amount of £367 Os 2d were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
