We have subjected a sample of the above-named ; article to a vary careful chemical analysis and examination. HASSALL. M.D., Author of " Food and its Adulteration." OTTO HEHNEE, F.C.S., Public Analyst. WM. JOHNSTON'S EEPOET. Government Analytical Laboratory, Melbourne, July 23,1877. Henri J. Hart, Esq. Sir,—l have the honour to report for your information that the sample of Imperial Schiedam Schnapps forwarded by you to me has been submitted to a searching chemical analysis and critical examination, the result of which enables me to state that it is the finest sample of Sobnapps that has aa yet oome under my notice. It has a pore fragrant odour, and is absolutely free from any trace of fusil oil or other injurious impurity, and has evidently been distilled from superior rye grain, always used instead of malt in the production of the choicest qualities of Schnapps. It is very smooth to the palate, and in this respect compares favourably with other samples offered for sale. It may be advised as equally suitable for medical ox economic purposes. I have the honour to be, Ac. jSigtod) WM. JOHNSON, Analytica Chemist to the Government of Victoria.
