THE services of duly-qualified DRAFTSMEN being required in the Surveyor-General’s Office, Sydney, N.S.W., applications are invited from Gentlemen competent to perform the duties, for which purpose they will have to pass a satisfactory examination in the following subjects, viz. ; 1. Writing from dictation; 2. Writing a description of the boundaries of a portion of land ; 3. lettering (freehand) in large and open Homan characters and Arabic numerals j 4. Ordinary map drawing ;6. Seducing; 6. Plotting traverses: 7. Computation of latitude and departure and applied plane, trigonometry generally, including computation of areas by the system of double longitudes, &c. and satisfy the Surveyor-General that they are generally competent to perform the duties of a survey draftsman. In the event of passing the examination, the remuneration will depend upon the degree of .efficiency that may then and thereafter be exhibited. Temporary draftsmen are divided into seven classes, at rates varying from 6s to 17s per diem for 5i working days per week.
