[BY telegeaph.] [: TIMES' SPECIAL WIRE.] WELLINGTON, Jan, 17. The Gazette to-night declares the following blocks of Native land to be waste lands of the Crown: — Te Onekura, Kaipara, 323 acres; Kaipati, Kaipara, 8451 acres. A proclamation defines the North Taieri portion of the Otago Central Railway. The first meeting of the Governors of the Timaru High School has been fixed for Jan. 27, at 11 o’clock. The Kowai Domain Board is to meet on Feb 6, at the Chairman’s office, Tinwald. The recreation reserve is brought under the Public Domains Act, and powers are dcleSted to W. C. Walker, E. G. Wright, Jos. tswiok, J. Carter, and J. Grigg as a Board of Management. Notice is given of money being paid, and negotiations going on for the purchase of the following blocks:—Native land, Waihi, Nos. 1,2, 3,4, and 5; Hauraki District, Paruak&wi, No. I; To Kohui, Otaki District, Opatu, Mangatawhero, Te Reiki, Puketotara, Wanganui. District powers under the Mines Act have been delegated to the County Council of Wallace.

Louis Ehrenfried, of the Thames, and Edward Parson, of Te Awamutu, are gazetted J.P.’s.

The resignations of Captain M'Donald and Sub-Lieutenant Cameron, of the Thames Scottish Company, are accepted. Mr R. Robinson is appointed a member of the Mount Ida Water-race Trust.

UlMr R. O-iver, M.H.R., and the Hon W. H. Reynolds, are appointed members of the Otago High School Board. Sir C. P. Cox and J. E. Trevor are appointed Governors of the Ashburton High School. The Hon O. Miller and Mr S E. Shrimski are appointed Governors of the Waitaki High School.

The following auditors of Pchool Commissioners’ and Education Board accounts ace gazetted—Auckland, Louis Adolphus Burner; Taranaki, Robt. Macalister; Hawkes’ Bay, Robt. Macalister; Wellington, Robt. Macalister ; Marlborough, Robt. Macalister; Nelson, Robt. Pollock; Westland, Edw. Fatten; Canterbury, north and south, John OUmer; Otago, Hy. Livingston. The following auditors for schools are appointed John Ollivier, Canterbury College ; Henry Livingston, Otago University ; L. A. Durrier, Auckland College and Grammar School; Henry Livingston, Dunedin High School and Southland High School. The Melbourne regulations as to Customs drawbacks, and several notices to mariners, ore also published. Mr Studholme’s election is gazetted.

The name of the Woodside and Waitoa post-offices, Auckland, is altered to Papatoitoi and Morrisville respectively. Mr J. B. Strange, Parnell, is appointed a land tax valuer, vice Mr C. H. Roskruge, for the Borough of Parnell.
