ASSESSMENT COURT.

CHRISTCHURCH. Mr G, L. Mellish, R.M., held a Court at the City Council Chambers yesterday, for the purpose of hearing and deciding applications against the new assessment of city properties. Mr J. H. Bennett acted as Clerk of the Court, and Mr Plockton. the Assessor, was in attendance to uphold his valuations. The following table shows the amounts at which the various properties were assessed and the amount of the assessment fixed by Mr Mellish, after hearing the appeals and the grounds on which they were made:— il H i § s.
