Malls close at the Chief Post-office lor tho followIm nUoos (subject to necessary alterations) i Saturday, March 10. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wellington, at 11.25 a.m.; late letters, 11.45 a.m.; railway station, 12.25 p.m. train. . _ Monday, March 12. Mails per Arawata will close as under: — For United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, at 1.20 p.m.; lato letters, 1.40 p.m. For tho Continent of Europe, India, China, ana the East, Suez and Mediterranean Ports, &c., at 1,20 p.m, - ; lato letters, 1.40 p.m. For Otago and Australian Colonics, at 1.30 p.m.; lato letters, 1.50 p.m. For money orders and registered letters, noon. Book packets and newspapers, at 12.30 p.m. Late letters for tho above mails can be posted in tho guard’s van, Christchurch up to 2.30 p.m., provided such letters bear, in addition to the full rate of postage, single rate of postage [as a late fee.
