Thk All-Enoland Obiokbt Match.— The trophies won in tho All-England cricket match will be presented at Radcliffe’e Hotel at 8 p.m. on Tuesday next. Ckbibtohuboh Sun Newbpapeb Company.—A mooting of tho shareholders in this Company is advertised to be held on Monday evening, at the Commercial Hotel. Waxmakariui Habboub Boabu. —As tho annual income of this Board from its foreshore leases is not sufficient to pay tho salary of the signalman stationed at tho bar, the Government have decided to pay tho salary as heretofore. 8. Mart’s, Merivale.— Harvest thanksgiving services will bo held in this Church tomorrow, at 11 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Tho services, which will bo choral, will bo conducted by tho Curate (Rev T. Flavell). The anthem will bo (Barnby’s) “O Lord how manifold are Thy works.” Timaru Harbour Board, —Tho ordinary meeting of this Board, which should have been hold oa Thursday, lapsed for want of a quorum. The members present wero Messrs F. Archer and W. O. Beswiok. Tho next meeting of the Board is appointed for April 12.

Mission Meeting.— The Bov H. 0. M. Watson desires it to bo understood that the special service in S. John’s Schoolroom this evening is open to all Sunday school teachers, and any persons interested in mission work. The Rev H. B. Macartney’s introductory address, which will bo given this evening, is specially intended for such as those referred to. Cricket.— A match was played on Thursday between the Sunnyside team and the Lyttelton Club, on the Asylum grounds, the former proving victorious by 57 runs. A capital luncheon was provided by tho Fort team. In the evening, the affecting drama “ Blaok-oyed §usan ” was produced, in the hall of the Asylum, very successfully.

Arrival of Wool Ships. —Tho New Zealand Shipping Company have received a London telegram advising them of the arrival of their three first wool ships, namely, the Waitangi, from Lyttelton, after a passage of 90 days; the Waimate, from Wellington, passage 73 days; and the Columbus, from Napier, passage, 82 days. University of New Zealand. The following students have matriculated at the Canterbury College by examination:— Miss G. Grierson, Messrs A. F. Douglas and W. Fidler; by having gained a Junior University Scholarship—Messrs J. Innes and J. Hay; by having kept terms at Ring’s College, London—the Rev T. Flavel. Accident. —An accident occurred at North Moeraki Downs on Friday last, to a farmer named John Beattie. While riding, he was driving a colt, which kicked him on the right leg, and broke it close to the ankle. He was removed to tho Club hotel, Rangiora, where the limb was set by Dr Downes. He was taken to the Hospital yesterday, by his friends. Burglary. —Tho house of Mr H. Ebeling, Greenpark, was broken into on Sunday last, and cash to the amount of £l6 odd taken away, Mr Ebeling, who lives by himself, had gone out for the day to a friend’s house, near Tai-Tapu, and, on bis return in tho evening, discovered the robbery. He immediately communicated the matter to tho police, who are now making diligent inquiries, and, although at present no arrest has been made, the police believe that they have the right clue to the thief.

Canteebuet Agricultural and Pastoral Association.—An ordinary meeting of the members of this Association was held at the office, Hereford street, yesterday afternoon, when there were present —Messrs A. Duncan (in the chair), Matson, Sutherland, Norman, Bowe, Money, and Mann. The meeting was called for the purpose of passing certain accounts for the auditors, and also to pass the prize list of the last November Show. The business transacted was purely of a formal character.

Waikahi Libbaby.—A meeting of the Library Committee, Waikari, was held at the Star and Garter Hotel on Monday last; Mr Hood in the chair. The business on hand was the selection of books, and after considering offers from several booksellers, the Committee decided upon getting £4O worth from Messrs Bonnington and Co. for a commencement. There is every prospect of a good library being formed in the district, as the Committee have £52 in hand, and hope that the total subscriptions will not fall much short of £IOO. A vote of thanks to the Chairman closed the proceedings. Lincoln Church.—The Building Committee met on Thursday evening last, at the Library, to receive tenders for the new church. The Chairman (Rev H. Stocker) stated that there were five tenders received for consideration. In the lowest one, it would be noticed that the tenderer did not state what timber it was proposed to put into the building. After careful consideration, it was resolved to accept the tender of Mr Jas. Groig subject to the approval of the architect. The amount of the tender is slightly under £SOO. Cube Boating Club.—The usual monthly meeting was held on Thursday, at the Pier Hotel, Kaiapoi; present—Messrs Oram (in the chair), O. W. Wearing, J. Winterbourne, 0. Smith, W. Hallier, J. Sims, G. Spillard, W. B. Willock, and W. Eiby (hon. see.). It was resolved to enter the Cam for the Champion Four-oared Race; the crew to be Messrs Q. H. Wearing (bow), 0. E. Dudley (2), W. Hallier (3), J. Winterbourne (stroke). It was also resolved to enter the Cure for the Champion Fair-oared Race; the crow being G. W. Wearing (bow) and J. Winterbourne (stroke). For the Junior Pair-oared Race, the Cure, manned by Thos. Keetley (stroke) and Goo. Gulliver (bow), is also to be entered. For the Double-sculls, the Woka is to entered, but it was left in the hands of the captain to appoint a crow for her. Messrs Wilson, Dudley, and Ellis wore elected members. Kaiapoi Regatta.—A meeting of the Committee was held on Thursday evening last to receive entries for the regatta, which takes place on Monday next. There was a large attendance, and Dr Dudley presided. A letter was read from Mr Rolleston, stating that the grant for Kaiapoi Regatta bad lapsed on Doe. 31 lest, and he had no power to pay it. He hod, however, referred the application to the railway authorities. The Secretary stated that he had since written to Mr Lawson on the same subject. A letter was read from Mr Lawson, stating that a special train would leave Christchurch for Kaiapoi at 0.15 a.m. on the day of the regatta, and that single tickets available for the return journey would bo issued from all stations to Kaiapoi. Jones; Rip Rap, W. H. Ovenden ; Emerald Isle, R. H. Mathews. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr J. Sims, “That the Club pay half the cost of the telegraph board belonging to the Sports Committee, and that it become the joint property of the two Committees.” Messrs Sims, Bumip, and Mathews wore appointed a Sub-Oommiltoo to lay out courses and moor distance boats. Messrs Dawson, Moore, and Fraser were appointed a Subcommittee to rope in thewhorf at the winning post for flags, Ac. An offer by Mr Burnip to place the whaleboat Isis at the disposal of the •tarter was accepted.
