By the decision 6f a toss between the two respective captains the Leeston men first went to the wickets, and succeeded in putting together a total of 69 for the first innings, the batting of Messrs A. and Di Loo and Cameron being good. The fielding displayed against them was also good, and the bowling of R. B. Willis certainly prevented their making a larger score.
