The a.s. Wanganui left Port Chalmers at 7.15 on March 24, arrived at Timaru at 6 30 a.m. on March 25 : took in 236 bales wool; left at 645 p.m., arrived at Akaroa at 5.30 a.m. yesterday; left at 12.30 p.m., and arrived in harbour at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. Captain Griffiths, of the a.a. Kangntira, reports having grazed a rook or shoal ground not shown on the chart. The weather at the time being thick, the exact position of the danger could not be ascertained, but it is supposed to bear from the Katau Rocks E.N.E., distant two miles. Captain Fairchild, of the Luna, aiso reports dangers in the same vicinity, which are not shown on the chart.

The barque Australian Sovereign from Newcastle arrived in harbour on Saturday. The s.s. Albion, Captain J. W. Clarke, left Sydney, March 15, at 1/10 p.m., aid passed through the Heads at 5.30 p.m. Experienced strmg southerly winds, with a very heavy sea until making the land. Arrived off Hokitika at ll.tia in., March 20. steamed off and ou until the following evening, and was tendered by the s.s. Waitara. The fine schooner Vounc Dick, from Hobart Town, with horses, arrived in harbour yesterday morning after a Tedious passage of twenty-two days. Great trouble was experienced with the horses on hoard, sixteen in number, owing to the water running short.
