CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, Dec. 1. (Before G. L. Hellish, Esq., 8.M.) Dbunk and Disorderly. —Annie Nugent was fined 20s. Ellen Jordan was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, with bard labour. RANGIOBA. Tuesday, Nov. 30. (Before 0. Whitefoord, Esq., R.M., and B. L. Higgins, Esq.) Breaches of Railway Regulations.— Henry Redfern was charged on the information of the guard of the Oxford train with refusing to show his ticket when asked to do so. The guard said the offence occurred on Nov. 2, and defendant refnsed to pay for his fare, when asked. Defendant said he hod a monthly tftket on the railway, but he forgot to put it' in his pocket on the occasion referred to. He denied that tho guard asked him to pay. A fine of 6s, and 6s 6d costs, was inflicted. — James Purvis was charged with smoking in a railway carriage on the Oxford line. The guard and Mr Higgins proved the offence. The latter stated that the defendant refused to put out his pipe when informed that the carriage was not set apart for that purpose. Defendant was in snob a state at the time that it was of no use talking to him. A fine of 20s and costa was imposed. Cattle Trespass.— Richard Nicholas was fined Is and costs, for allowing cattle to trespass on a public road.—A case against George Gone was dismissed.

Sdadghxebing Lxcenses. —Licenses were granted to D. Garrett end P. Fawcett. Abusive Language. — Jane Jones was charged with using abusive and threatening language to Mrs Denoh on Nov. 16. Mr Clarke appeared for complainant. After hearing evidence the accused was fined 20s and costs, including £1 Is for professional fee, and ordered to find one surety in £2O to keep the peace for twelve months. OXFORD. Wednesday, Deo. 1. (Before 0. Whitefoord, Esq., 8.M.) Catteb Tebspass.— S. J. Gammon was charged on three separate informations with allowing cattle to wander at large on public thoroughfares, and a fine of 6s, and costs, was inflicted in each case.—John Lee was fined 6s, and costs, on each of two informations.—D. Dorhman was fined 5s for a similar offence. Seaughtebing License.— A license was granted to T. Bl Howson, Gust. Civil. Oases.— W, H. Zouoh v. John Freeman ; claim £2 16s. Judgment for plaintiff by default.—Same v. James R. Henry; claim £2 8s 2d. Judgment for plaintiff.—W. Wilson v. Blankj claim IBs, for illegal charges for impounding cattle. Judgment for plaintiff.—Henry Sedoole v. James Wilsonj claim £l2 10s. 'Judgment for plaintiff.— Same v. X. Haymon; claim 10«, a set-off filed by defendant for 10s. Judgment for

plaintiff for amount claimed, with costs.—J. Taylor t. Daily; claim £llßs 6d, cash overpaid for Wages. Adjourned at plaintiff’s request for a fortnight.
