Mr Aikman repots on Mr E, Wilkin’s weekly skin sale last Thursday as follows Upwards of 2700 skins were catalogued, andall sold at- fairprices. Butchers’ skins, 8s lOd to 5s 9d each ; second quality do. Is 8d to 3s 4d each; pelts, 6d to Is 6d each; rough fat, 2id to 2|d per Id : hides; fresh, 3jdtofid perlb; do, salted, 4|d per lb ; calf skin H?E. Alport reports tliat at the Canterbury Saleyards, Addington, on Wednesday last, the supply of both fat and ■ stoife sheep was large, and the yards were also amply filled with ’of all description. Sheep maintained their value, as the hatchers .operated freely, hut in cattle it was noticeable that nearly every line was taken hy, graziers, consequently the cattle market was heavy, and, several pens of beef were turned out unsold.: Store cattle. sold well, especially ’young stock.
