Election Notices. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE SEFTON DISTRICT. GENTLEMEN,— I have the honour to offer myself as a candidate for reelection to the Provincial Council. The extent of the District will render, it impossible for me to make a personal canvass amongst you, but I shall take an early opportunity of meeting you in public, to explain my views, and my past action in the Council, and to answer any questions on political subjects which you may address to me. I have the honour to be, Gentlemen, Tour obedient servant, W. M. MASKELL. April 12, 1870. C 3263 TO THE ELECTORS OF SEFTON. GENTLEMEN, —It was not my intention to have asked for the honour of representing you in the new Provincial Council so late in the day, but as so many of the electors have expressed a wish that I should and have promised their support in the event of my doing so, I now beg to announce that I am a candidate. There will be many subjects of great importance, both directly and indirectly to this district, discussed in the Council, and should you do me the honour, gentlemen, of electing me, the fact of my interests being identical with those of the bulk of the electors will, I trust, be sufficient guarantee that my most zealous endeavours and the best of my abilities will always be employed in furthering the interests of this district, and those of the province generally. As the close proximity of the Election will render it impossible for a personal visit to each elector, I must in the meantime rely on the kind exertions of my friends to use their best endeavours to secure my return, and I shall do myself the pleasure to meet you on THURSDAY, 26th inst., at 7 p.m., in the Schoolroom, LEITHFIELD, and at SALTWATER CREEK on FRIDA7, 27th inst,, and explain my views on some of the most important subjects likely to be discussed. I have the honour to be, Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, F. H. MELVILLE WALKER.
