THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT of CANTERBURY invite tenders for the ERECTION of a BRIDGE over the Rakaia River, in accordance with plans and specification, to be seen in tbe office of the Provincial Engineer, on and after Tuesday next, the 27th inst. Tbe Bridge to be built of 96 spans of 4o feet each, with approaches of about 779 feet in length. . The Government is prepared to receive and consider plans differing from, or modifications of, those for the carrying out of which it calls for tenders. Flans and specifications to be forwarded with the tender. The Government engage to return unaccepted plans and specifications, if required to do so. Sealed tenders endorsed “ Rakaia Bridge ” to be sent in to this office not later than noon on the Ist July next. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
