Thb schooner Annie Brown, which arrived yesterday from Lyttelton, with a cargo of oats and wheat, is quite a new vessel, and one which ought to be exceedingly serviceable in thejeoasting or intercolonial trade. She is not, however, of colonial origin, but was built on the Tay, at Perth, Scotland, and ia a natty enough looking craft, well finished, and can carry a good cargo on a light draught of water. She is 160 tons measurement, and in her construction, the material employed for the framewerk was the bet oak, her skin being of larch. Her sailing qualities are welllspoken of, and it is stated that she accomplished the passage fromtheDownstoDunedininllOdays.Withregard to her present trip, Capt. Brown reports that the schooner Bailed from Lyttelton on the the 6th ult., and was becalmed for fully a week after leaving. The passage was again delayed by the schooner having had to contend against strong northerly winds in Cook's Straits. On the 29th, in Hank f s Straits, the schooner was also exposed to the fury of a very heavy gale which commenced from the N.W.. and shifted into the S.W., and during the continuance of which she was hove-to for twentyfour hours. The latter part of the passage was marked by a prevalence of westerly winds. The agents of the Annie Brown at this port are Messrs Pigott Brothers and June 3.
