MAIL NOTICE.
Supplementary Mails for the United Kingdom, Ac., and Australian Colonies, will close at Christchurch, at 8 pm, and Ljttclton at 6 pm, on Thursday, the 23rcf instant; to be forwarded overland to Hokitika to catch the Omeo. Letters for England must be addressed "via Suez."
Mails per Airedale, for Olago and Southland, will close at Christchurch, at 11 a.m., and Lyttelton, at noon, on Friday, the 24th instant.
The following new mail services and alterations in existing services come into operation on the Ist January, 1868:Mails for Addington and Biocarton will close daily at 9.45 a.m. Mails for St Albans, daily, at noon.
Mails for Weka Pass and Kurunui, three times weekly, at 8 a.m,, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Mails for Governor 1 * Bay, twice weekly, in place of weekly, and will close at Christchurcb. at 8,30 a.m,, on Monday and Saturday. Mails for Upper Ferry, Bangitata, willclose at Orari every Monday and Friday, at 9.30 a.m. < .
A Post-office will be opened at Geraldine, and mails for this office will close at Orari on Monday and Friday, at 9.30 a.m. The Post-office at the Selwyn will be removed from M'Donald'i Hotel to the Railway Station, Mails will close ac Christchurch at 8.30 a.m., daily.
A Post-office has been opened at the Saw-mills, Little Birer. Mails close'at Chiistohuroh every Monday, at 8.30 a.m.
On and after Wednesday, December, the. IKb, the mails between Lyttelton and Christchuioh will be carried by railway. The mails will be thrice daily between Port and City, which, until further notice, will close at .the. Chief., Office at 8.30 a.m., 11.30 a.m., and 4.30 p.m. The 'return mails will be sorted into the Chrißtohurch private boxes at 10.45 a.m., 1,45 p.m., and 6.45 p.m. The daily deliveries by the letter carriers will commence at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. At Lyttelton tho mails for Christchurcb will close at 9.30 a,m,, 12.30 p.m., and 5.30 p.m. The return mails will be sorted into the private, boxes at 9.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m., and 6,30 p.m. The Lyttelton Letter Carrier will commence his delivery at 9.45 a.m. and 12.45 p.m. On the same date, the Post-office at the Heathcote Valley will be moved tc the Eaflway' Station, Heathcote Valley. The mails for. this office will close at Christchurch at 830 a.m., anil at Lyttelton at 9.30 a.m. At the Station, the mails for Christchurch will close at 1 p.m., and for Lyttelton at noon. The Post-office at Ferry Mead Station wilfbe closed.
Mails for the Ferry road will close at Christ-, church at ,8.30 a.m. every Monday,. Wednesday,' and Saturday; at the Ferry road, for Ohristohuroh| at 3 pa. on the same days. j
