MAIL NOTICES.
Mails per Otago, for the United Kingdom, the Continent of Europe, India, the Mediterranean Ports, the Australian Colonies, Otago, and South, land, will close at Chrislchurch at 10.30 a.m., and Lyttelton at 1.30 p.m., on Saturday, the 18th inst.
Money orders must be procured at Christchurch and Lyttelton before 4 p.m., on Friday, the 17th inst., and registered letters posted before 9.30 a.m. on Saturday, the 18th inst.
Mails tor Sydney, Brisbane, and the Northern ports of New Zealand, will close at Christchurch at 11 a.m., and Lyttelton at 12 noon, on Tuesdav, the 21st inst.
Mails per Bangitoto, for Wellington, Nelson, and the Australian Colonies, will close at Christchurch at 11 a.m., and Lyttelton at 12 noon, on Tuesday, the 21st inst.
[NoiB.-In the event of mail steamers not being to their contract time, supplementary mails are made up and despatched from Chrstchurch by the last train prior to the sailing of the vessels.]
_ The following new mail services and alterations in existing services come into operation on the Ist January, 1868 :
Mails for Addingtonand Biccarton will close lady at 9.45 a.m.
Mails for St Albans, daily, at noon. Mails for Weka Pass and Eurunui, three times weekly, at 8 a.m, Monday, Wednesday, and
Mails for Governor's Bay, twice weekly, in place of weekly, and will close at Christchurch at e.dO am., on Monday and Saturday. Mails for Upper Ferry, Eangitata, will close at Uran every Monday and Friday, at 9.30 a.m. APosUfficewill ba opened at Geraldine, and mails for this oice will close at Orari on Monday and Friday, at 9.30 a,m; y
The Post-office at the Selwyn will be removed fromM'Donald's ffotel to the Railway Station. Mails will close at Christchurch at 8,30 am daily. '
A Post-office has been opened at the Saw-mills, Little Eiver. Mails dose at Ouistchurch every Monday, at 8.30 a.ms '
