Jenkins, from Sydney via Wellington, arrived in harbour on Tuesday evening, at midnight, and berthed alongside Peacoek's Wharf yesterday. The John Knox left Sydney on the 26th ult,, and had a fine pasgage of 6 days to Cook Strait,'experiencing strong westerly weather. On the 3rd inst,, when off Cape Campbell, met with a heavy gale from the' southward, which' carried away main-and main topsail yards. The-gale continuing the neit morning, Capt. Jenkins deemed- it advisable to bear up for Wellington, which port was made on the 4th inst. Having repaired damages, the John ■ Knox sailed for Lyttelton at midnight on the 22nd inst., arriving as above; experienced N.B. weather on.,the run from Wellington. - She will have quick despatch for, Sydney. Capt. Jenkins reports experiencing very, rough weather' during his voyage from this pert to Sydney last trip. The P.N.Z. and A.R.M.' Co's.' s.s.„ Airedale, Capt.
