PANAMA POSTAL SERVICE.
10 THE EDITOR OP TI!E LTTTELTON TIMES. Sir,—Noticing iu your issue of yesterday the rates of postage to various places by the above service, may I inquire for myself and others interested, whether letters and piv.Vri for British America will be conveyed i.fca Panama by the line of steamers to New York, or will they be taken to England, and thence across the Atlantic. It seems only reasonable to suppose that when the difference of time is so much as twenty-three or twentyfour days in favour of the former, it would be the direction arranged for; but the fact tlmt the same postage is quoted for the Canadas as for the United States, would lead one to infer that the roundabout route to bouthampton and back across the ocean is the one at present proposed. My inference may be wrong, still information on the subject will much oblige. Tours, &c,, KAMICIv.
