IRELAND.

■ —-♦ —- ",'M I** (From the Times Correspondent.)' Dublin, Marcli 24, The arrests for Fenianism have been very few for some days past. A man named Flannigan, teacher of a National school, has been taken up on suspicion at Trim, county Meatb, and lodged in gaol, Sub-constable Dunne lias identified Ryan, who was arrested on Wednesday in the Galtee Mountains by Sub-inf-peutor Cruise, as being one of tlio parties who fired at the police at Glenbane, swearing that it was the prisoner whom he saw at the door when the lights were put out, and that it was lie who told the police to come in when the shots were fired. Kygn has been re-committed by Mr. C. De Gernon, II.M, At the Castlebar petty sessions, on Thursday, two young men named Carter and Hanley, charged with complicity in the Fenian (:onspiricy, were let out on small bail.yTttqre are still seventeen Fenian prisoners in tlie g'tfol of that town. The grand jury of Galway assembled at the assizes have ad >pted an address to the Lord Lieutenant, assuring him that the vigorous determination of Her Majesty's Government to suppress conspiracy and rebellion meets with their full approbation, They regard with abhorrence an attempt levelled against law, property, and religion, and are prepared to give every aid in their power to the Queen's Government, to resist attempts which, though impracticable and insane, ; are fraught with the most pernicious consequences as regards the well being of this country. Among the agencies actively and extensively employed by the conspirators m tjfje very potent one of circulating and singing seditious songs, especially among soldiers. "X private named Flynn, belonging to the 3rd Bluffs, stationed at Longford, was recently found engaged m this practice at a public house, swearing. at the same time that tie was a real Irishman, and would fight as an Irifihuian. Hjj misconduct was reported, by some uf his comrades, and an order was received yesterday from head-quarters, directing that he should be tried by court-martial, with the view of putting a stop to this practice. Sir Hugh Rose has also issued a general order on the subject. You have learned by telegraph the important news contained in the Cork Examiner of last evening, that Stephens has made his escape to America. What makes the news probable is, that .his wife departs this day from Queenstown to New York by the Iritnan steamer. Two Fenian fugatives have been jbeen arrested at Dromahair, in the county Leitrim, and two others in Dromard, in the coutity of Sligo. Yesterday afternoon forty-five 'of the Fenian prisoners were removed from Ivilmainham Gaol to Mountjoy Convict l'rison. This batch includes nearly all the American officers, and the more important prisoners arrested under the Habeas Corpus Suspension Act. It was to make room for them that the ordinary convicts were sent to Belfast on Saturday, so that the Belfast people were mistaken in regarding those prisoners as Fenians.
