NEW ZEALAND INTERCOLONIAL MAIL SERVICE. MANUKAU AND MELBOURNE. TENDERS will be received at this Office, until THURSDAY, the 24th day of May, 1866, for the performance of a Monthly Steam Service for the Conveyance of Her Majesty's Mails between the Port of Manukau, in the Province of Auckland, and Melbourne, each way, foi a period of Six Months, commencing on the 11th day of June, 1866, at Melbourne. The steamer to wait the arrival at Melbourne of the European Mail for-ninety-six hours after its due date, if required by thePost-master-General or his agent. Tenders to state the rate per hour for any further detention not exceeding a further period of ninetysix hours. A penalty of Four Pounds per hour will be required for delay in departure after the time fixed on each voyage. All mails to be shipped, landed, and transhipped by and at the expense of 'the contractor. A chief cabin passage, free of cost, to be provided for a postal officer, and proper accommodation for the sorting of the mails; also, a proper, secure, and convenient place for the deposit of the mails,' The name, tonnage, and horse-power of the vessel proposed to be employed in this service to be stated. The vessel to be approved of by' the Postmaster-General, and subject to he surveyed by some person appointed by him whenever he may consider it necessary. Tenders to be endorsed, "Tenders for Manukau and Melbourne Mail Steam SerNELSON AND SYDNEY. TENDERS will also be received until the same date for a similar service between Nelson and Sydney. The service to commence on the 14th day of June, 1866, at Sydney. The duration, terms, and conditions the same as those of the Manukau and Melbourne service. General Wellington, 26th March, 1866, 1445 PUBLIC NOTICE. 1 will, until further notice, provide FREE PASSAGES for SINGLE WOMEN, between the ages of 12 and 40, emigrating from England to Canterbury, in ships under contract with the Provincial Government. Married women and children will be charged at the usual rates. The passages of male emigrants will be charged for at the rato of £l4 per statute adult, on approved bills, payable thirty days after sight, or 10 per cent discount for cash payment.
