SKIN DISEASE ORDINANCE.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE LTTTBLTOX TIMS. Sib,—Will you oblige by informing me whether the candidates for the next Provincial Council, will pledge themselves to exert their utmost to amend the existing law, so as to allow sausage-makers, shoemakers, and har-ness-makers, to import skins from the United Kingdom, as I find from the law now in force, that skins are destroyed as soon as they are unpacked in Lyttelton, and unless the law is somewhat modified, the price of skins must become dear, so as to leave room for tanners and curriers in this province, to exnet exorbitant prices for their leather, and allow no chance whatever for preservers of skins to the old country. Yours, &c., SAUSAGE SKINS.
