Garrick, solicitor, Christchurch. 6028 Medicines, THE GREAT ENGLISH REMEDY FOR GOUT AND RHEUMATISM.—BIair's Gout and Rheumatic Pills.—This preparation is one of the benefits which the science of modern chemistry has conferred upon mankind; for during the first twenty years of the present century to speak of a cure for the Gout was considered a romance; but now the efficacy and safety of this medicine is so fully demonstrated, by unsolicited testimonials from persons in every rank of life, that public opinion proclaims this as one of the most important discoveries of the present age. These Pills require no restraint of diet or confinement during their use, and are certain to prevent the disease attacking any vital part. They can be relied upon as the most safe and effectual remedy ever offered the public, and have been universally used in Europe and America for many years for the above complaints. Her Majesty's Commissioners have authorised the name and address of " Thomas Prout, No. 299, Strand, London," to be mpressed upon the Government stamps affixed to each box of the genuine medicine, with printed directions for their use. THE GEEAT EEMEDY OF THE AGE. jJOLLO WAY'S OINTMENT. The Effect of the Ointment ok the System.—To the very core and centre of all diseases which affect the human body, this remarkable preparation penetrates. It disappears under the friction of the hand as salt disappears when rubbed upon meat. The unguent performs its healing errand rapidly, safely, and without pain. Simple eruptions, open sores, hard tumours, scrofulous developments of all kinds, abscesses, cancers, old wounds, and, in fact, every species *f inflammation or suppuration, whether in the skin, the flesh, the glands, or among the muscles, can be arrested in its destructive course and permanently cured without danger, by rubbing in this inestimable Ointment. Bad Legs, Bad Breasts, Sores, and Ulcers.—ln many Hospitals in Europe this celebrated remedy is now used for the cure of old wounds, sores, and ulcers; in Spain and Portugal, and in many parts of Italy, the first Physicians regularly prescribe its use. It is a sovereign remedy for bad breasts and bad legs; and likewise for all skin diseases. It is to be found in the chest of nearly every sailor, soldier, and omigrant Piles, Fistulas, Stbictubes.—Tho above cluss ol complaints is surely removed by nightly fomenting the parts with warm water, and then by most effectually rubbing in this Ointm<nt. Persons suffering from these direful complaints should lose not a moment in arresting their progress. It bo understood that it is not sufficient merely to smear the ointment on tha affected parts, but it must be well rubbed in for some eonsiderable time two or three timos a day, that it may bo taken into the system, whence it will remove any hidden sore or wound as effectually as though it were palpable to the eye. Bread and water poultices, after the rubbing in of the Ointment will do great service. This is the only proper treatment for females in cases of J cancer in the stomach, or for those who suffer from a general bearing down. Impbudencies of Youth. — Sokes and Ulckes.—Blotches, as also swellings, can with certainty be radically cured, if tho Ointment bo used freely, and the pills bo taken night and morning, as recommended in the printed instructions. When treated in any other way, these complaints only dry up in one place to break out in anothor; whereas this Ointment will removo the humour from tho system, and leave tho patient a rigorous and healthy being. It will require time, aided by the uso'of tho Pills, to insure a lasting cure. Diptheria, Biionchitis, Soke Throats, Coughs, and Colds.—Any of the above class of diseases may bo curod by well rubbing tho Ointment threo times a day upon tho skin covering tho throat, chest, ana nook of tho patient. Tho uuguont will soou penotrate the pores and give immodiate relief. To allay tho fever and lessen inflammation, oight or ton Pills should bo taken night and morning. The Ointment will produco perspiration, which is so essential for removing fevors, sore throats, and those oppressions of the chest which aviso from asthma, bronchitis, and other causos. Both tho Ointment and Pills should be used n the following cases:— Bad logs Cnncers Scalds Bad breasts Contracted and Soro nipples Burns stiff joints Soro throats Bunions Elephantiasis Skin diseases Bito of niosoht Fistulas Scurvy toes&sandllies Gout Sore heads Coco-bay Glandular swell- Tumours Chiogo-t'oot ings Ulcers Chilblains Lumbago Wounds Chapped hands Piles Yaws.
