Public Notices. PUBLIC NOTICE. CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL. IT having been represented to the Council that manj r householders are in the habit of using the night-soil pans as receptacles for house slops, to the hindrance of the contractor properly carrying out his contract with the City Council, the Council orders that the contractor be instructed to remove pans, where so used, every week, or of tener if required; the ! charge each time of emptying being the same as at present made. THE Lyttelton Municipal Council offers a premium of One Hundred Pounds (£100) for the best set of Plans, Specifications, and Working Details for a scheme for supplying, at and within a height of 150 feet above High Water Mark, the Town of Lyttelton with Water, either from the Tunnel Springs or otherwise. The plans, &c., with estimate of the costs of the various particulars (without the author's name, b»t with a motto and sealed letter), to be delivered free of expense, on or before the 81st July, at the office of the undersigned, of whom further particulars, and a plan of the town may be obtained. The Engineer or other person whose Bcheme may be accepted, must guarantee the practicability of the same, and will be held bound to undertake or supervise the works according to his plans and estimates if required by the Council to do so ; but the Council does not pledge itself to employ the Engineer or other person whose plans may be aC Theplans not approved will be returned, the accepted plans remaining the property of the Council.
