CHRISTCHURCH COLLEGE GRAMMAR SCHOOL.
The distribution of prizes at this school yesterday. Several ladies and gentlemen, the fnendi atid relatives of the pupils, were present. The Lord Bishop of the Diocese presided, anc read the results of the examinations which had beei held in the various subjects. He also read reporti from the Revd. H. Jacobs (who had examined th< school in Scripture), from Mr. G. A. E. Ross (whc had conducted the French examination, and statet that the scholars had made a very sound and satisfactory progress in. that language), from . Mr. u Sale and .the Revd. C; Bowen (who had examinee the boys in mathematics, history, and geography) ind from the Head-master and- Second-master <wh( lad conducted the classical examinations). Jacobs read a letter which he ha( received from Charles Prichard, who has obtamec ,he first academical laurels for Canterbury, having recently been elected a scholar of Brazenose College Oxford.
