THE LATE CASE OF DEFRAUDING THE RAILWAY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE LYTTSXTON TI3IES. Sir,—lt is right I should state that I tendered payment of the railway fare, and that, in admitting the offence, I expected I should have had an opportunity of stating this in Court, and which clearly proves I had no intention of defrauding the railway. I also affirm that payment was offered by another party on my behalf. SHADRACII CLEMENTS. Avonside, Feb. 2.
