Smaller Steam Fire Engines of M. & S's manufacture are now in use by Volunteer and other Fire Brigades. Prize medals were awarded to Merryweather & Son at the London and Paris Exhibitions of 1851, 1855, and 1862, for the best and most powerful Block Hand-power Fire Engines, of all descriptions and sizes, suitable for Fire Brigades, Towns, Insurance Companies, Factories, Docks, Railways, Public Buildings, Mansions, Ships, Farms, &c. Manufacturers also of Fire-escapes, Hose, Buckets, Pumps, Firecocks, and of all kinds of Fire-extinguishing Apparatus, &c. N.B.
