LATEST INTELLIGENCE.
We hear from a private source that it was reportedon the eve of the sailing of the steamer, that" Captains Phelps, Mercer, and Gresson, and Lieut. Talbot of the 65th, had died of their wounds. Our informant, who is a M.H.R., heard this from an officer of the 65th Regiment. Mr. FitzGerald's motion for a Commission to decide upon what part of Cook's Straits should be named as the seat of Government was carried by 24 to 17.
