Oct., 1863. 05234 TO STAND THIS SEASON, at Pariora Station, near Tiroaru, the thoroughbred Horse BAY CAMDEN, By Calendar; dam, Cassandra, by Tros; grand-dam, A.lice Grey, by Old Emigrant; great grand-dam, Sulnare, by Lord Egremont's Young Gohanna, out Ultima, by Hollyhock.—( Vide Stud Book.) Gulnare was foaled in 1822, and imported from England into New South Wales by Mr. James Macarthur, of Camden Park. Calendar (half-brother to General Chasse) was imported to New South Wales by the Australian Agricultural Company; was got by Canteen, out of Hambletonian, out of Monica, by Sir Peter. —(Vide Stvd Booh.) Cassandra's sire, Tros, by Priam, out of Ally, by Partisan; was bred by Lord Albemarle, and imported to New South Wales by Mr. Kater, in 1840. (Vide Stud Book.) Alice Grey's sire. Old Emigrant, by Pioneer, out of Ringtail, by Buzzard; was bred by Mr. Rush, in 1822, and imported to New South Wales by Admiral Rous, R.N., in 1828.—(Vide Stud Book.) Bay Camden is therefore as thoroughbred as Eclipse, and combines in his veins some of the very best strains of racing blood. His dam, Cassandra, made her appearance on the Australian turf in 1847, and in the short period of eight months, beat every horse of note then on that turf, the veteran Jorrocks included. Bay Camden's own performances as a race-horse, under all weights, are far too numerous to enumerate, and of such a character as to have stamped him as the best aged horse that ever figured on the Victorian turf. His symmetry, substance, bone, good constitution, &c., all recommend him as a sire. First-rate paddocks, free of charge, but no responsibility incurred. FLYING CLOUD is a very handsome horse; color—a rich brown, with black points—he is a four years old, and stands sixteen hands high; has a fine constitution, and an excellent temper. He was bred in 1859; got by Frank, out of Omen; by Melbourne, out of Stormy Petrel; by Sheet Anchor. Flying Cloud carried off the first prizes at the Shows of the South Australian Agricultural and Horticultural Society, three years in succession, as a yearling, two-year old, and three-year old. Frank, sire of Flying Cloud, was got by Ugly Buck, by Venison. He was imported into South Australia by W. Vansittart, Esq.; was shown against all other imported horses, and took the first prize four years in succession, and retired from the field with the Society's Medal, having never been beaten. Melbourne, sire of Omen, Flying Cloud's dam, was also sire of the following winners:—Tatton Sykes, winner of the St. Leger, 1846; Cymba, winner of the Oaks, 1848; West Australian, winner of the Derby and St. Leger, 1853; Blinkbonny, winner of the Derby and Oaks, 1857; Summerside, winner of the Oaks, 1859; Wizard, winner of the Two Thousand Guineas, 1860; and Thormanby, winner of the Derby, 1860. &§T FLYING CLOUD will be limited to Forty Mares, and as several are already booked, early application is recommended. FLYING CLOUD will stand this season at EDD'S HORSE REPOSITORY, Christchurch, commencing Ist October. Good paddocks, and every care taken, but no responsibility incurred. Apply to W. Ferguson, Esq. New Province is a light iron grey, rising 7 years, stands 16| hands high, good temper, thoroughly staunch, active, and in every respect adapted for breeding draught or harness horses with proper classing of mares. Sire Lincoln, an imported draught entire from Hobart Town to Auckland. Dam, an English mare, imported by Williamson, Esq., of Auckland. Terms: £2, payable on the Ist January, 1864. Groomage, 55., to be paid at the time of service. Good English grass paddocks for mares at ss. per week, but no responsibility. New Province will stand on Saturdays at the Royal Hotel stables, and the remainder of the season at the stables of the undersigned. TO STAND THIS SEASON at Mr. LADBROOKE'S STABLES, Christchurch, the thorough-bred Horse TRADUCE R. Imported by D. Innes, Esq. Traducer is a magnificent Dark Brown Horse, Six Years Old, of great power and symmetry, perfectly quiet temper, good constitution, &c, &c,. His performances in England have stamped him a first-class race horse (see 'Ruff's Guide' for 1860-61). When a two-year old he was sold for one thousand two hundred guineas; as a three-year old, he won the ' Wynnstay Handicap,' at Chester, beating a large field of good horses, and became first favorite for the ' Two Thousand Guinea Stakes,' for which he ran third to the Wizard, the best horse of his year in England. Traducer's pedigree, both by Dam and Sire, are of'the purest blood; his Sire, The Libel, having more Herod blood in him than any horse now covering in England (see the last work on the ' Racehorse,' by Stonehenge, and the letters of Admiral Rous to ' Bell's Life in London'). Traducer, by the Libel; Arethusa, by Elis; Languid, by Cain; Lydia, by Poulton. The Libel, by Pantaloon (sire of Hobbie Noble); Ellthiron, The Reiver, Miserrima, &c., out of Pasquinade (own sister to Touchstone) (see 'Stud Book'). Tom King is by King Tom, out of Deiopeia. King Tom by Harkaway, out of Pocohontas (dam of Rataplan, Stockwell, &c.) Deiopeia by Defence, out of Romaike by Rowton. Tom King's own sister and brother, Canace and Brother to Canace, have run very well this year and last on the English turf, warranting the belief that his stock will prove themselves valuable racehorses. He is a rich chesnut, four years old, stands sixteen hands high, and combines great power with perfect symmetry. c 4786 TO STAND THIS SEASON. THE thorough-bred horse CRECY, by Towton, out of Fairy, bred by the owner, Mr. Cridland, will serve mares at Hoon Hay, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays at Mr. Money's stables, in Christchurch. Crecy, foaled Nov. 1859, closely resembles his sire Towton. His dam, Fairy, imported for Mr. Cridland in 1855 by Mr. W. S. Moorhouse from New South Wales, was bred by Mr. Charles Roberts, by Cossack, out of a Satellite mare. Terms —Five guineas, and five shillings groomage, payable in January. 5212 o A. W. MONEY.
