Mails per s.s. Prince Alfred for England, Sydney, Brisbane, and Nelson will close at Clinstchurch at 6 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 8 a.m. on Friday, the 11th met.; and at Kaiapoi at 1 p.m. on Thursday, the 10th instant. Money orders must be procured before 1 p.m. on Thursday the 10th instant, and letters for registry must be posted before 4 p.m. on that day at both towns. Mails per Lord Ashley for the Australian Colonies, Trirlm, the Mediterranean Ports, Dunedin, and Sup-
plementary flails for England, will close at Christcuurch at 6 a.m. and of Lyttelton at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the loth instant; and at Kaiapoi, at 1 p.m., on Monday, the 14th inst. 'Money orders must be obtained before 1 p.m. on Monday, (lie 14th mst., and letters for registry must be posted before 4 p.m. same day, at both towns. Late let ters, by payment of an extra sixpenny stamp upon each letter, can be posted at Christcliurch until within three hours, and at Lyttelton until within one hour of the sailing of the steamer on the 11th and 15th inst., respectively.
