GENTLEMEN,— I have received your requisition calling upon me to allow myself to be put in nomination for the seat in the Provincial Council vacant by the resignation of Mr. Harston. I regret exceedingly to find that Mr. Sprot is ineligible, being convinced that he would have represented you much more efficiently than I can expect to do. My services, such as they are, I shall be happy to place at your disposal; and, should I be elected, you may rely upon my giving the fullest attention to any subject which may be brought before the Council; and further, that no' vote shall be recorded by me except after mature deliberation. NOTICE is hereby given, that Charles Oswald, of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, New Zealand, Storekeeper, hath, by deed bearing date the third day of September now instant, conveyed and assigned all his freehold and leasehold property wheresoever situate, and all the personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever of him the said Charles Oswald, unto John Ollivier, of Christchurch, aforesaid, Auctioneer, and William Wilson, also of Christchurch, aforesaid, Commission Agent, upon trust for the equal benefit of themselves and such other of the creditors as should come in and execute the said deed within three calendar months from the date thereof.
