CELEBRATION FESTIVITIES IN HONOR OF THE MARRIAGE OF THE PRINCE OF WALES. A GRAND BALL will take place at the Town Hall, Lyttelton, on TUESDAY EVENING, July 7, 1863, in honor of the Marriage of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales. Tickets of admission may be procured from the undermentioned Stewards, at 12s 6d each. Each ticket to admit two ladies and one gentleman. STEWARDS: Messrs. W. Donald, R.M. H. P. Murray-Aynsley, J. T. Rouse, A. Louisson, Jno. S. Cameron, Peter Cameron, jun., M.C., H. Allwright, T. Preece, W. Cummins, jun. N.B.—No money will be taken at the doors. 3036 LYTTELTON CELEBRATION FESTIVITIES, July 7tii, 1863. THE Regatta Section of the General Coir mittse give public notice that the following PIi.ZES will be contested for in the Harbor, on the 7th July next, in honor of the Marriage of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, viz:— The Princess of Wales Prize, value £18, by four-oared boats, with rudder; open to all comers. Time to be allowed at the rate of 10 seconds per foot for length of keel. Entrance, 10s. 6d. First boat ...£l2 10 0 Second boat 5 00 Third boat Entrance money. Course: Start from a line between buoy off Government jetty, and jetty, round the hulks Federation and Gratitude; round a boat moored off Officers' Point; back to starting point. Twice round. The Celebration Prize, value £15, in boats with two oars, and 25 feet in length, by watermen only, without rudder or steersman. Entrance, 10s. 6d. First boat £10 0 0 Second boat 5 0 0 Third boat Entrance money. Course: Same as in previous race, only once round. Open to all boats except winning boats of either the previous races, and to be pulled by Lytteltoh watermen only who have regularly plied for hire at least one month previously. The Prince of Wales Prize, value £18, for amateurs, in four-oared boats, with rudder; same allowance of time for length of keel as above. Entrance, 10s. 6d. The rules and regulations of the Regatta Committee 1863 will be observed on this occasion, in reference to boat races. The entries to close at 10 o'clock on the morning of the 7th July. The Committee reserve the right to make any alterations, of which due notice will be given. Further particulars mav be known on application to MR. WM. RAYNER, the treasurer to the Celebration Fund; or to H. P. MURRAY-AYNSLEY, Esq., chairman of the committee. 2999 PUBLIC HOLIDAY. CHRISTCHURCH TOTAL ABSTINENCE SOCIETY. THE Members of the Band of Hope joining in the procession on the 9th July, are requested to meet at 9 o'clock on the morning of that day, at Mr. Worth's Temperance Hotel, Colombo street, whence they will proceed to join the public procession in the Market-place. The Committee earnestly invite the attendance of the adult members for the purpose of assisting in the arrangements. Distinguishing Badge in addition to the white rosettes to be generally worn on the right arm on that occasion All teetotalers, whether joinjng in the procession or not, are requested to wear their distinguishing badge as follows, viz.:—Adults, red, white and blue on the breast.
