When off Timaru Bhe became disabled, through the pin which fastened the fan getting adrift. The captain attempted to make Akaroa, but the thickness of the atmosphere rendered it impossible. The violence of the gale having abated, he was enabled to make Lyttelton harbor on Sunday morning. At starting, the Euby had only sufficient coals on board for the voyage to Dunedin, and was obliged to get a fresh supply here; also water and fodder for her stock. During the violence of the gale the sea swept clean over her decks, carrying away her port bulwarks and a pen of 15 fine pigs, some of which weighed over 200 lbs: she also lost two of her cattle. The steamer left for Port Levy on Monday evening to get supplies, whence she will proceed to Otago. The schooner Success arrived yesterday from Dunedin; she left on the morning of the 27th.
