FURBY, of Christchurch, at the request of several members of the Municipal Council, has arranged to ILLUMINATE the town of Lyttelton on the occasion of the festival on the 7th of July. G. Til KLYTTKI/T()N MUNICIPAL COUNCIL INVITE TENDERS for leasing for building purposes the frontages of the barrack square, fronting on Oxford street. The land to be laid out in sections of 20 feet frontage by 48 feet in depth. On receiving what shall appear to the Council a sufficient tender, the lot will be submitted to auction, the tender being the upset price. In case of one person tendering for two contiguous sections, they may, at the discretion of the Council, be offered at auction as one lot. The leases to be for 14 years, to be extended to 21 years, if within the first 7 years stone or brick buildings, of a value and extent to the satisfaction of the Council, be erected.
