Delivery of Mails.—A thorough reform in the delivery of letters and newspapers in this province must be made. We don't care who it is that is to blame, but that there are slow-coaches somewhere is manifest. The English mail arrived in Ly ttelton at a quarter past nine a.m. yesterday, and the Christchurch letters are supposed to be packed separately to be forwarded at once. No letters were delivered yesterday at Christchurch beforefour o'clock p.m ! As for newspapers no one dreams of getting them now on the day the mail comes in. If the Postoffice considers this dispatch, the sooner it is undeceived the better. We do not pay thousands of pounds for a rapid ocean service to be disappointed and annoyed by this miserable dawdling when the mail has been landed. We should like to know whether the local postmaster is satisfied with local arrangements. If he is not, has he remonstrated at head-quarters in such terms as to produce amendment ? If he has, who is the obstructive ?
