' Gulnare' was foaled in 1822, and imported from England into N.S.W. by Mr. Jauies Macartliur, of Camden Park. 'Calendar' (half-brother to 'General Chassfi') was imported to N.S.W. by the Australian Agricultural Co., was got by ' Canteen ' out of' Haiiibletonian,' by ♦ Stamford ' out of • Harmonica' by 'Ha mbletqnian ' out of ' Monica' by 'Sir Peter.'— Vide Stud' Book. ' Cassandra's' sire ' Tros,' by ' Priam,' out of ' Ally ' })y ' Partisan,' was bred by Lord Albemarle, andr-imported to?N.S.W. by Mr. Kater, in 1840.—Vidfe Stud Book.' His dam, Cassandra, made lifer appearance on the Australian turf in .1847, and in the short.period of eight months beat every liorse of note then on that turf, the veteran ' Jorrocks' included—and was admitted by the best judges to be the best racehorse that ever figured on that turf, and ii now pronounced to be the finest hrood mare in the colony. Bay Camden's own performances as. a racehorse, iindet all weights, are far too' numerous to enumerate, and are 6f such a character as to haVe stamped him by universal consent to be the best aged horse that had ever figured on the Victorian turf.
