The schooner Crest of the Wave, which we noticed on Saturday last among tbe arrival* in the Heathcote river, has been built in Auckland expressly for the river trade, to the order of Captain Thos. Like the Pryde and the Juno, both which vessels were last year added by Captain Bnxton to our coasting fleet, the Crest of the Wave is one of tho sliding keel class, and as such is peculiarly noticeable for her height between decks. Her cabin, which is . very roomy for a vessel of her size, is con structed nnder a break-deck, giving much greater height than » ordinary. Its length is 9ft. sin.; breadth, forward, 9ft. 4in., •ft, Bft. Bin.; height to the ceiling of the break-deck, /ft. lin. The cabin is at present plainly fitted, and contains four sleeping bertha. The dimensions of the vessel, as given in her certificate of registry are as follow:—Extreme length, /6 5-10 feet ; breadth, 20 1-10 feet; depth (amidships) 7 9-10 feetv total register tonnage, 58-26 tons. She is at present topsail-schooner rigged, and is considerably over-masted. It is, however, her owner's intention to alter her rig to the favorite one of a ketch. She sails for Otago early next week.
