RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, Christchurch, June 5. (Before Joseph Britain, Joseph Palmer, T. W. Maude, and John Bealey, Esqrs.) BREACH OF PUBLIC HOUSE ORDINANCE. Martin Cash was fined £50 and costs for having knowingly permitted spirituous liquor in a less quantity than two gallons to be sold in and upon his house or premises in Peterborough Street, Christchurch, on the 29th of May last. He was also fined £50 and costs for selling one bottle of ale. on the 31st of May last. Mr. Duncan appeared for the prosecution in both cases, and Mr. Travers appeared for the defence.
