Apply to Miles and Co., Lyttelton. 1577 CANTERBURY VOLUNTEERS. fPHE Committee for furthering the Volunteer -L movement in the Province of Canterbury, understanding that there exists among the Bankers, Merchants, Professional men, Storekeepers and others, in Christchurch, a general desire to afford to persons in their employ every facility for joining the ranks of the Volunteers as active members, have taken steps for ascertaining what plan for accomplishing the above objects would best suit the convenience of the inhabitants generally ; as a result of their enquiries, this Committee beg to recommend the adoption of the arrangment detailed in the accompanying circular, which has already received the sanction of the leading men of business in Christchurch, and in which the Committee earnestly invite the cooperation of the whole of their fellow citizens.
