ELECTION NOTICE. TOWN OF TIMAEU DISTRICT, CANTERBURY. I"N pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the J- General Assembly of New Zealand intituled " The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," and of another Act of _ the General Asßembly of New New Zealand intituled " The Provincial Elections Act, 1858," I, Belfield Woollcombe, Eeturning Officer for the District of the Town of Timaru, do hereby give notice, that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the Sixth day of March, 1862, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an Election will be held for the return of a legally qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of the Province of Canterbury, for the Town of Timaru; and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at the Resident Magistrates Office, Timaru, on TUESDAY, the Thirteenth day of May, 1862, at Noon ; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on Wednesday, the Fourteenth day of May.
