Mr. Dowling, a native of Tasmania, exhibits in London at present a picture, entitled ."Lazarus, come forth," which excites considerable interest. Major, the Hon. W. C. Yelverton, of the Royal Artillery, is placed on half-pay, and his name has been removed from the effective list of. the regiment. „ "When a fellow is too lazy to work, says Sam Slick, "he paints his name over tbe door, and calls it a tavern or grocery, and makes the whole neighbourhood as laz)' as himself."
