ciiKisTCiiuncn. * Mr. H. E. Alport reports several important sales at auction during the past week. On Wednesday last, the land and buildings at present occupied by Mr. H. Inwood, farmer, river Avon, were sold at public auction by order of the mortgagee; also a .Sheriff's sale at Oaversham House, Ferry road, the well-known entire Skeleton brought £80; one cow and calf, £19^ two cows, £21; three good size porkers, £<j !2s; the furniture, bedding, &c, sold at good prices: the sale throughout being well attended, and a spirited competition. On Thursday and Friday—sale of drapery, clothing, stationery, &c, a good attendance, and fair prices realized. Saturday —market sale—horses and pigs heavy of sale; fowls, 3s to 3s 6d per couple; potatoes, 4s to 4s 6d per cwt. SYDNKY. Stations, Stock, &c—Proprietors of sheep stations do not feel inclined to sell excepting at full rates. Store sheep in considerable demand. There will he large lots sold after shearing. Maiden ewes from 12s to 13s 6d, good breeding ewes 10s to lis 6d, ewe lambs 8s to 9s, wethers 9s to 10s 6d. Horses—Heavy colts sell well. Tallow—Beef £37 per ton. Hides—Prime heavy 12s to 14s. Sheepskins 6d to 7d per lb.—S. M.' Herald, July 15. HOBART TOWN. An average supply of wheat has come in to-day. but purchasers are shy of buying. Stocks in town are large, and a great portion of them, as we before noticed, is not of a prime sample. Prices are unchanged; 5s 9d to 6s for average qualities, and 6s 3d for superior ones. Flour is steady for local demand at £16 to £17. Some small shipments are taking place, but not sufficient to affect prices. Oats are in better demand, but prices remain without any alteration, 3s 9d,to 4s. Potatoes are in full supply, and but few shipments are taking place, prices have not as yet receded, but unless a better demand springs up shortly, prices must fall; our present quotations are £3 10s to £4 10s.
