V ELECTION NOTICE. ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF THE COUNTRY OF CHRISTCHURCH. IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zea-' land, intituled " The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, Thomas William Maude, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of the Country of Christchurch, do hereby give notice,: ,that by virtue of a writ bearing date the twentyseventh day of February, 1860, issued under the, hand of His Excellency the Governor of New; Zealand, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a member of the House, of Representatives for:the said Electoral District, and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the Town Hall, Christchurch, on Monday, the second day of April, 1860; and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken on Tuesday, the seventeenth of April, 1860.. .
