The French frigate La JcanecV Arc and If. M. Ship Winchester have both left Hongkong1 with the avowed intention of finding the Russian squadron lately in these seas, even though they sail as far north for them as Kavntschaka. H.M.S. Encounter had not returned from her cruise in search at last advices from Shangliae. Sir John Bowring is still absent. — Friend of China.
