THE PATENT WEDGE SHINGLES \ RE strongly recommended as an im- -£^* proved System of Eoofing ; and from the Wood being Steamed, and cut quite smooth by Machinery, are thoroughly Seasoned, of uniform length, breadth, and thickness, viz., 18 inches by 3% inches; three-sixteenths of inch at one end, and eight-sixteenths of inch at the other ; and peculiarly adapted for covering high or low pitched roofs. A material feature in these shingles is their economy: they are put on without waste, may be made perfectly tight on rinds; thus saving the sarking so essential for ordinary shingles, and do not require strong timbers. They are as durable as ordinary English slates, and cover the same surface at half the expense. Specimens may be seen, and every information obtained, by application to Longden & Le Ceen.
