Tbe Rev R de Lambert, Vicar of the Parish of Wakatipa, is at present taking bis annual holiday We understand that Mr Leo Lea will probably be a candidate for the Skippers seat in the Lake County Council.
Miss McKtbbin, of Crown Terrace, who has beau spending an extended holiday in Australia, returned home last week.
Me R. M. Paterson, of Arrowtown, has been appointed judge of Romnej sheep at Kelso and Winton k. and F.. Shows.
Mr and Mrs Geo Reid (Glenoroby) returned to Queenstown on Monday from an extended, trip to tbe Sooth Sea Islands. Tbe Mail states that Mr Reid is considerably benefited in health by his trip.
Mr 0 A. Cuff, who was for some time on the staff of the Arrowtown branch of the Bank of New Zealand, is at present in Queenstown. Mr Caff who is now on tbe inspecting staff of the Bank, visited Arrow last week. Messrs E R. Green and A. Whitley, Inspectors of Mines, arrived in Arrowtown on Monday. Oo Tuesday they inspected the Cardrona Goal mine and also a deposit o( shale recently discovered at Crown Terrace Yesterday tbe inspectors visited the Gibbston mine.
Prior to bis departure from Queenstown Mr Harry Shand, the well known footballer, was entertained at a smoke concert Mr Shand was made tbe re cipientof two presentations—a travelling companion by tbe Queenstown Football Club, and a travelling rug by the railway staff and carters.
