o—— Weekly Market Repdrt. Stronach, Morris and Co., Ltd<, report for week ended Thursday, 10th July, 1919, as follows Fat Cattle—l 73 yarded, the majority of which carao in by road, there being only two bucks railed in owing to the railway restrictions. Competition was good, and last week’s prices were fully maintained. Quotations: — Prime bullocks £2l to £24, medium to good £l7 10s to £2O, best cows and heifers £l4 o £IG, extra to £l7, medium £l2 to £l3. Sheep—l7o penned—a small yarding owing to the railway restrictions. Competition was keen, and prices for prime quality showed an advance of fully 2s per head on last week’s rates. Quotations Extra prime wethers to 595, prime wethers 43s to 50s, medium 35s to 40s, prime ewes to 39s 3d, ,medium 30s to 355, light to 28s Lambs—3B3 penned. Owing to the railway restrictions freezing buyers were not opeiating, and prices showed a decline of from 4s to os per head on last week’s rates. Prime lambs 28s to 32s ; medium 20s to 245; light 14s 6d to 13s 6d. Pigs—There was a medium yarding of both tats and stores. Fat pigs sold fully up to last week’s rates, but stores were if anything a shade easier. Stronach, Morris, & Co. Ltd. report for week ended Tuesday. Bth July, as follows : Rabbitskins—Our next sale will be held on Monday, 14th inst. Sheepskins—The Government are holding a valuation this week. Hides—Our next sale will be held on 'Thursday, 10th inst. Oats—There is practically nothing’to report since last week. Growers are still firm holders and are not prepared to sell at prices offering. Prime milling' 4/2 to 4/4, good to best feed 4/- to 4/1, inferior to medium 3/9 to 4/- per bushel (sacks extra) Wheat—Millers still have good stocks on hand, and arc only prepared to take lines in good condition. Chaff—Stocks on hand are very low, owing to the restricted railway service, and consequently prices are firmer. Best oaten sheaf £7 10s to £7 15s, medium to good £6 15s to £7 5s per ton (sacks extra) Potatoes—There is a good demand for prime quality. Inferior lines, however, are not so keenly sought after.
