Weekly Market Report. Stronaoh, Morris and Co.. Ltd;, report for week ended Thursday, - 29th May, 1019, .as follows :-- Fat Cattle several penß of prime heavy show bullocks to hand, and these realised prices ranging from £26 to £3l ss. Prime and medium sorts were firm at last week's rates. Prime £l9 to £22, medium to good £ls to £l7 10s, lighter £l3 to £U 10s, best oows and heifers £l3 103 to £ls, medium to good £ll 103 to £l2 10s, others £9 103 up. Fat Sheep—3s69 penned. A large yarding, comprising chiefly ewes and wethers of medium quality. There were a number of pens of extra prime show ewes and wethers, an" so; these there was keen competition. Prime quality sheep were firmer to the extent of 1/6 to 2/- per head on late ruling rates, while medium and inferior sorts were on a par with last week's values. "Prime wethers 428 to 495, extra 55a to 67a 6d, medium to good 30s to 353, best ewes 34s to 39a, extra prime 50s 3d to 59a, medium to good 24a to 275, others 2us up. , Lambs—l47l penned—a large yarding for which there was keen competition, and prices showed a rise on late rates. Some extra prime heavy weight lamb 3, suitable for show purposes, sold as high as 553. Pig S _There was a medium yarding of fats and these were cleared at prices on a par with late rates. A small yarding of stores was offered and these realisad prices oa a par with last week's values. Stronach, Morris, & Co. Hidea—Our next sale will bs held on Thursday, 29th inst ~Oate —The market remains firm, although there is not a great deal of business passing, on account of the farmers eolding for bigger prices. Prime milling 4/2 to 4/4, good to best feed 4/1 to 4/2, inferior to medium 3/- to 3/9 per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat Large consignments of wheat have been coming to hand of late, and millers will only accept linea in prime condition. Fowl wheat is in fair demand. Potatoes—Owing to the removal of the export embargo the market has been more active of lace, and prices have risen accordingly. There is a good demand for choice lines of tables. Quotations :—Best tables £8 to £8 10s, others £7 to £8 per ton (sacks in) Chaff —There is a good enquiry for prime oaten sheaf, which has not been arriving too freely of late. The bad weather we are experiencing at present should also be a factor in keeping prioes firm, Medium quality is also in better demand, and good feed lines meet with a prompt sale.
