SOLDIERS' RETURN.

Weloome-home Social at Appowtown. Another welcome-home social waa held in the Atheneum Hall, Arrowtown, on Wednesday evening of last we6k in honor of Sergt. W. O. Rendall and Gunner T. H. Raid, recently returned from the front. Mr G. H. Romans, chairman of the Reception Committee, presided, and on behalf of Arrow and district residents tendered to the two men a hearty welcome home, and presented each with the customary medal. Rev. J, Rattray also gave an appropriate address, and suitable response was made by Sergt Rendall and Gunner Reid. Music for the dance was supplied by Stevensons' orchestra, and Mr S. Peacock acted as M.O. During the evening Mr Rosevear contributed two songs, which were greatly appreciated. Rev. J. Rattray also played a cornet solo. Refreshments were supplied the ladies.
